We spent a lovely (albeit windy) Sunday afternoon firmly planted at Toronto's Sugar Beach. With its giant candy-coloured umbrellas, shady willow trees, and unobstructed view of Toronto Island, it made for a great location for pictures, and not to mention for sipping on some Liefmans cherry beer at a patio down the boardwalk! The beach was lively with people tanning, reading, and taking pictures, including a wedding photoshoot which we tried our best to avoid getting in the background of. Dayle is wearing a floral pelmet skirt from Topshop which has a slightly higher trim in the front than in the back. It's a fantastic detail for showing off a little upper thigh! The mesh sweater is from Zara and it is a great summer item for dressing up denim shorts, jeans or in this case, a pelmet skirt! However of sunny days, it can cause extremely awkward tan lines haha beware. The shoes are another story... drunkenly purchased on the streets of Queen West post day drinks at Oasis, my boyfriend gave me five minutes in Zara and these were the result! Kendra is wearing a denim pinafore dress from Topshop paired with a little demure white blouse to try to offset the shortness of the skirt! Pinafores and overalls are trends that we are willingly diving headfirst into this season. The key is to try to make them look less precious and childlike by styling them with worn-in black booties and heavy metal accessories. Band tees, leather jackets, or beanies would also help to toughen up a pinafore or pair of dungarees! We've got a few more of these items up our sleeves (err.. not that pinis or dungarees have sleeves) so keep an eye out for the rest!
