Melbourne Royal Botanical Gardens

Dayle wearing: Topshop striped t-shirt, vintage denim shorts, Vans white sneakers, Princess Polly tortoiseshell sunglasses Kendra wearing: Forever 21 grey floppy hat, Romwe round sunglasses, Forever 21 tan double-breasted duster vest, H&M suede shorts w/ exposed front zippers, Topshop suede and leather block heel mule sandals

A little delayed (2 months, give or take) on this final Melbourne post, but I’m still excited about it! We had heard great things about the Royal Botanical Gardens and really wanted to check them out before we had to part ways for another 6 months </3… we started with brunch at The Kettle Black (SO good… the coconut chia seed pudding is to die for) and then made our way to the botanical gardens & Shrine of Remembrance. We were completely captivated by them! The gardens are so serene and full of lush greenery and flowers. We strolled for a couple of hours admiring the palms, exotic gardens, and the little cottages tucked away behind wrought iron gates and trees. Like a storybook, let me tell you! Dayle wore a simple striped tee with denim shorts and Vans… quite a bit more appropriate for nature than my getup, but I was itching to wear this double-breasted duster vest! I love that I could throw it on over a black tank and suede shorts and suddenly the entire look was enhanced. Add a floppy hat and my foolproof Topshop block heels and I was good as gold (naturally). This became one of my favourite outfits that I wore all year!

Another post situated on our Melbourne AirBnB. Earlier we had scoped out St Kilda for brunch and a beachside walk, ending it at Republica St Kilda for a good old fashioned Sunday session lasting well into the late afternoon. Can we bring Sunday Sessions to Canada please?? What could be better than getting dressed up and basking in the sun with some nice bevvies on a Sunday afternoon? We donned a brand new cutout culotte jumpsuit from Bronze Snake Shop (Dayle) and a vintage high-waisted floral midi skirt paired with a little triangle crop top (Kendra)... perfect get ups to continue the fun back at our AirBnB alllll evening.

Valley Girl

Kendra wearing: H&M leather moto jacket, Zara tied white tee, Zara eyelet scalloped midi skirt, Topshop lace up flats, Forever 21 hat

Doing a wine tour in the Yarra Valley during our visit to Melbourne was a high priority... Cruising around wine country and visiting a few renowned vineyards was an ideal way to spend an afternoon. Aside from actually drinking wine, the most exciting part was planning what to wear while frolicking around the estates. Perhaps my choice of a white tee and scalloped white eyelet midi skirt was a risky one due to my high red wine consumption during the day, but luckily not a single drop was spilled. I accessorized with a pair of Topshop lace up flats and a floppy chapeau, and to add a bit of edge (and also some warmth as we ended up with a windy day) I added a black cropped leather moto.

Great Ocean Road

Australia has been #1 on my travel list for as long as I can remember, so I'm so happy to finally publish my first post from my 3-week Australian excursion. I'm not sure how my infatuation with this country began, but years ago I remember seeing a picture of the Twelve Apostles, all rugged and majestic surrounded by crashing waves. In recent years, I have followed countless Aussie fashion and travel bloggers and learned the entire country is full of natural wonder and the culture perfectly embodies a beachy, lust-for-life lifestyle. When Dayle moved to the Gold Coast to finish school, I jumped at the opportunity to finally visit the land down under... I spent time in Sydney, with Dayle on the Gold Coast, and in Melbourne. While in Melbourne, I knew I had to take the drive along the Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles (in addition to Loch Ard Gorge, Great Otway National Park, little beachside towns, and random unnamed breathtaking lookout points)... as hopefully portrayed in these photos, the sights were better than I could have even imagined. The Great Ocean Road drive is an absolute must-do for anyone planning an Aussie trip.

A Very Intercontinental Holiday

Undertaking the massive task of editing all of our photos from our Australia trip has proved to be a lengthy process. In the time being, we thought we would present a feature on holiday dressing that readers in both the northern and southern hemisphere could appreciate. Newly launched Australian e-boutique Elavonza sent us the lace Caspar dress in both black and white, and we couldn’t think of a better piece to wear to parties during the holiday season that was both snow and sun friendly. Needless to say we’re sure it won’t be a white Christmas in Toronto this year, but global warming concerns aside, this little number works as well on patios with sandals and sunnies as it does bundled up with tights, booties, and a fur coat. We snapped these photos of us on our heavenly patio at our AirBnB in Melbourne, which was brimming with leafy, flowery goodness. We spent tons of time out here soaking up the sun and wine… but more on Melbourne in some upcoming posts :) for now, take a browse on for more holiday dressing inspiration!
