Hey how STAGNANT has our blog been lately?! Yikes. Too shameful that we haven't posted in over two weeks. We attended a fantastic rewardStyle seminar this evening to learn more about growing readership, SEO, and taking full advantage of their servicesโ€ฆ More on that later, but the good news is that their event kicked us into high gear to start getting up to date with all of our posts. First things first, the last of my New York posts. Seen here, biking in Central Park, lunch at the wondrous raw restaurant Pure Food & Wine which was nearly vacant due to it being 3pm on a Monday... (that raw falafel salad! Those tacos! Look how liberal they are with guacamole!!!!), and watching the sun set from Aussie-themed Northern Territory in Brooklyn while nursing a carafe full of whiskey drank. Not pictured, shopping in Soho at lovely Opening Ceremony, Reformation, Saturdays, etc., meeting Dakota Fanning in a pizza parlour, and an extraordinary rooftop bar experience at PhD Dream Downtown where I randomly yet excitedly met Jake Rosenberg of the Coveteurโ€ฆ just wanna throw it out there that my closet is ready for its big Coveteur debut at a moment's noticeโ€ฆ I wore the shorts version of the white Wilfred Valetta overalls with a cropped burgundy halter, backwards chambray cap, and stompy Winsdor Smith Chunk sandals to round off a totally 90s/MK & A Olsen ensemble.

If endless champagne brunch doesn't set the stage for a great day I'm not sure what does. Paradou's vine-covered, chandelier-strung jardin next to the Highline was the most fantastic place to spend Sunday morning brunching, chatting, and jamming to their perfectly curated playlist for a few hours. After finally forcing ourselves to leave the dynamic crowd and atmosphere, we strolled along the Highline stopping frequently to take pictures, take in the views, and shop the little stalls. We also perused the Alexander Wang flagship (FUR HAMMOCK!) and Topshop in Soho later on in the day, and then headed up to the Upper East side to explore a bit before dipping into Central Park to hang out. The day ended at lovely Cafe Select, an intimate little bistro with great food and sweet decor... twinkle lights hanging from the ceiling?! Be cuter why don't ya! Of course my personal theme of the entire day was "no pants party" so I fully embraced it while trekking around the city. Bottomless champagne, bottomless getup! That's the real motto. But really, believe me that I have a pair of suede shorts on under there! I paired them with a collared Cos split side tunic, mirrored sunnies, black felt fedora, and my trusty Kobe Husk Millenium boots.

I have been back from the Big Apple/City That Never Sleeps/Center of the Universe for a shamefully long time (two weeks) without any blog updates yet, so this post is long overdue. This was my first time visiting Manhattan with friends, so needless to say the entire trip was centered around shopping, eating, drinking, wandering, and of course a couple of parties. The above photo series was taken on our first full day in the city. We tried the much-raved-about Butcher's Daughter, which fully lived up to it's expectations with its bright, farmhouse-inspired decor and vegetarian fare and juices, before wandering around Nolita and finding our way into tiny boutiques filled with the most wonderfully unique clothing from emerging designers. We then made our way through the Flatiron district and over to Chelsea to have cocktails at the intimate yet ambient La Piscine poolside bar on the roof of the Americano Hotel... perfect for people watching on a hot Saturday afternoon. Following this, we were determined to hit MoMA PS1 for their Warm Up party where A/JUS/TED was playing. What's a trip to New York without accidentally getting completely lost on an express train? After we sorted out the mix-up (which took us just about to Jackson Heights) we made it to Warm Up for an amazing evening. Lavo in Midtown was our last stop of the night and it definitely did not disappoint (although I wish my memory was clearer by this point). I ended up wearing one of my favourite purchases of the summer so far, a white backless dress with a tiny embroidery pattern and cross-back spaghetti straps from Forever 21. This dainty dress begs for some toughening up, so I paired it with my favourite purchase of, hmm, probably my whole life so far, the Millenium boot by Kobe Husk in black croc embossed leather. These are without question the greatest boots I have ever owned. From the buckles that wrap around the ankle, to the open heel, to the perfect height, finish, and overall shape, I couldn't have asked for a better shoe to trek around New York in. They're on sale now here if you want in on the perfection.
