Cranes in the Sky

Just returned from South Beach and I just have to express my love for it! It is the place to go to be EXTRA, but for a quick and easy getaway somewhere hot, beachy, stylish, and fun, there isn't a better place to go. The bar and restaurant scene is amazing... Some of my fav spots include the Broken Shaker (the bar at the Freehand hotel), Ola (amazing Latin food), Casa Tua (incredible Italian in a gorgeous courtyard patio setting), River Oyster Bar (in Brickell, so good), Habitat (for brunch or lunch, such an adorable patio), Mandolin Aegean Bistro (Greek, featured in Vogue), and Dreamer (most adorable brunch). The pool at the W Hotel is my fav but the Shore Club also has a great vibe. Our stays down there never feel long enough and there are so many other things I would love to do that I haven't had the chance to yet! Itching to go back and see the Museum of Ice Cream, explore the design district, and drive down to the keys.

I'm wearing my favourite outfit ever from MISSPAP... A crane print culotte and kimono set paired with fluffy block heels and a cute little backpack that perfectly fits my DSLR camera. Easy, stylish, fun, and just a little over the top... just like Miami ;)

Striped Poolside

Kendra wearing: H&M black tied tee, Zara vertical striped pants, About A Girl western double buckle belt, market sunglasses

With my next tropical getaway coming up in less than 3 weeks (thank goodness for this after the cold spring we have been having so far), I figured I should post my last outfit from Miami a couple of months back. I have owned these vertically striped pirate-esque pants for a few years and loved the thought of them paired with a simple black tied tee and the amazing double buckle belt that both Dayle and I purchased at About a Girl boutique (Byron Bay) back in November. All ideal for hanging around in the evening poolside at our rental house in Ft Lauderdale. The next trip is Jamaica in just a few weeks, and immediately following that Dayle will be back in Canada! We are both so excited to be together again for the summer and can't wait to get back to blogging as a pair.

South Beach, Bringin' the Heat

Kendra wearing: Wilfred linen blend trapeze dress, Forever 21 black straw hat, Forever 21 round sunglasses, Forever 21 two-part buckle sandals, Mackage Rubi arrowhead purse

So, somehow this was my first trip to Miami. I have been to numerous other destinations in FLA in my lifetime (Disneyworld about 47 times, hollaaaa), but never made it down to Miami (where the bass and the sun set low). As expected, it was… over the top. In a good way! I enjoyed every minute of it, but it is definitely a sensory overload. We had absolutely unreal weather and spent some quality time at the Shore Club in South Beach (obsessed with the décor), in addition to a beach house rental in Fort Lauderdale (pretty nice to have your own personal space… and pool). It was a great week of relaxation with plenty of time beach- and pool-side with ample opportunity for strolling, shopping, and eating.

Above, I am wearing the easiest and breeziest dress ever, by Wilfred. It features the cutest curved pockets, a frayed hem, adorable trapeze shape, and comes in a beautiful linen blend. All it takes is some good accessorizing to take it into ideal vacation outfit territory. A straw hat, round sunnies, delicate jewels (peep my evil eye bracelet from Greece – thanks to my sis!), and buckled sandals… done!
