Winter dressing is never fun... half the time it's too cold to make any effort at all, and the other half you're covering your thoughtfully put together outfit with a huge coat. Hence, here is my attempt at winter fashun, in which I am really feeling my colour palette. Cream ribbed mock, burgundy cord skirt, topped off with my heavily worn Babaton camel wool coat. I have also worn these Forever 21 over the knee boots so much this winter that I have to sing their praises hard here. If anyone has been on the fence about getting a pair all I can say is PULL THE TRIGGER NOW (especially if you live in or will be traveling to a cold climate). You will not regret it. They look good with pretty much every outfit AND serve as basically another layer of pants. They bless you with style and warmth... such a win-win.

Another post situated on our Melbourne AirBnB. Earlier we had scoped out St Kilda for brunch and a beachside walk, ending it at Republica St Kilda for a good old fashioned Sunday session lasting well into the late afternoon. Can we bring Sunday Sessions to Canada please?? What could be better than getting dressed up and basking in the sun with some nice bevvies on a Sunday afternoon? We donned a brand new cutout culotte jumpsuit from Bronze Snake Shop (Dayle) and a vintage high-waisted floral midi skirt paired with a little triangle crop top (Kendra)... perfect get ups to continue the fun back at our AirBnB alllll evening.

Quite the contrast to the blizzard occurring in New York this past weekend, Toronto has not yet seen any true winter weather... I for one will take it, as these temperatures make it a whole lot easier for me to get out and shoot outfits, as well as make it far less of a struggle to convince my boyfriend to come assist and photograph. I cross my heart and hope to die that I wasn't even cold in the above outfit... IN JANUARY. Pretty pumped about this. What I am even more pumped about is the opportunity I had to represent a ridiculously cool brand from Melbourne called Via22. We partnered with them to help promote their new season, called Series 3. The collection is filled with gorgeous metallics, laces, woven leathers, and signature prints. Thinking ahead while keeping Toronto's cold weather in mind, I selected this scuba printed mock neck sweatshirt. Upon receiving it, I was delighted by the gorgeous quality and workmanship. The scuba was thick and plush, and the print was adorable. I paired it with a pair of skinny ripped boyfriend jeans and light grey stiletto ankle booties to keep the whole palette light and mostly monochromatic. I love how it all came together for a casual but cool look... I just wish it was warm enough for me to have been able to pair the sweatshirt with the adorable matching shorts! Via22 should be on everyone's radar in anticipation of spring... Shop more here: http://via22.com.au/

On our first full day together in Melbourne we had no plans other than to wander around and take it all in... best way to experience a city for the record! We were staying in West Melbourne so we headed towards the direction of the city center and, after weaving through alleyways, found ourselves in quite the gem of a backstreet! We located Krimper cafe and had brunch there which was fantastic, and then made our way down to the shops on Chapel street to do as the hip kids do. Kendra opted for a super casual shorts and Vans sneakers ensemble, keeping everything white-on-white, and topped with a pale blue silk duster by Wilfred. Dayle wore a fantastic pair of flowy palazzo pants and a wrap crop top, exhibiting how a monochrome look can be made so much more interesting with different textures and silhouettes.

Doing a wine tour in the Yarra Valley during our visit to Melbourne was a high priority... Cruising around wine country and visiting a few renowned vineyards was an ideal way to spend an afternoon. Aside from actually drinking wine, the most exciting part was planning what to wear while frolicking around the estates. Perhaps my choice of a white tee and scalloped white eyelet midi skirt was a risky one due to my high red wine consumption during the day, but luckily not a single drop was spilled. I accessorized with a pair of Topshop lace up flats and a floppy chapeau, and to add a bit of edge (and also some warmth as we ended up with a windy day) I added a black cropped leather moto.

A Topshop Focus

From blouses to blazers to boots, Topshop is a brand known for being able to dress a woman from head-to-toe for nearly every occasion that life throws her way. And with the chilly weather upon (some of) us, it’s a great time to stock up on all the basics like warm outerwear, leggings and of course a few statement pieces to vitalize your look.

It's no secret we have a love affair with Topshop. If you’re in need of some inspiration for an ensemble, then check out the array of unique Topshop separates on Lyst. Not only do they have the season’s latest styles from Topshop, like the Grey Ribbed Roll Neck Jumper from the extensive turtleneck collection, but they also happen to feature a number of other great pieces all in one place.

According to InStyle, Topshop’s new season collections are always highly anticipated. And given the brand’s awesome selection of both trendy and classic closet staples, the magazine’s praises seem to be right on point. The most recent collections are full of affordable fashion and the latest on-trend looks.

If you still need a few more ideas, then Marie Claire has some excellent suggestions on what to snag from Topshop. The magazine believes that the brand’s trend-led items offer endless styling options and the staff is said to always snap up the newest pieces in record time. The editorial team is currently loving wide-leg trousers, suede dresses, loafers, and a colour palette that includes burnt oranges and rich berry tones.

 Green & Yellow Plaid Skirt

Green & Yellow Plaid Skirt

Below are a few Topshop favourites that should be just the thing to get you ready for the winter festivities that lie ahead.

 Camel Belted Coat

Camel Belted Coat

Look stylish for any shopping romp or casual party with friends. Pair this green and yellow plaid check A-line skirt with a pair of black chunky over the knee socks, ankle booties, a roomy cable-knit sweater, and a soft pom-pom beanie for an outfit that will carry you through the cooler months.

Bundle up with this belted camel coat. It's the perfect outer layer to keep you warm on the way to a party. It boasts a fitted and feminine silhouette that would look great over a pair of eggplant-hued cigarette pants, a sleek white button down shirt, a beautiful statement necklace, and a pair of black closed toe pumps. Most definitely.

 Brown Boots

Brown Boots

Looking stylish is easy with the right pair of boots, so don’t forget to grab a pair of knee-highs this season. Great for wearing to get-togethers with friends and family, or even to work, these versatile brown suede boots will look great with just about anything. That being said, they work especially well with skinny jeans and an oversized boyfriend sweater for a casual outing, or with a belted sweater dress and opaque tights for a cute date night ensemble.

With so many great options, your outfit should be the best it possibly can be, especially with the variety that Topshop has to offer. We are firm believers that Topshop could comfortably accommodate an entire wardrobe, they just always seem to have the answer. Just remember to have fun and enjoy your time choosing from the latest fashions for the perfect wardrobe.

Spending time together on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas was short but so sweet. It is definitely somewhere that you need more than a few days to fully explore, and that's not to mention other nearby draws like Byron Bay, Burleigh Heads, and Brisbane. Sadly we weren't able to visit all of the aforementioned together, but being able to roadtrip to Moreton Island (by way of ferry) and Byron Bay together was unforgettable!

After doing a bit of research on local island destinations, we decided upon Moreton Island due to its turquoise water, Tangalooma shipwreck snorkeling site, and adorable resort huts. We narrowly avoided a storm while on the island as well as almost got taken away by the current when snorkeling, but the island feels like such a lovely tropical getaway that it was still a great day trip to take.

We took to Byron Bay like backpackers and stayed at what turned out to be actually quite a high end hostel. During our two days there we did plenty of shopping at local boutiques and found some great loot (talking Lottie Hall, Zulu & Zephyr, Bec & Bridge, a couple of much sought after double buckle belts, etc). We also had to do the hike up to the Byron Bay lighthouse which is the Easternmost point on the Australian mainland. Although the sun was reluctant to come out and play, we still were treated with stunning views, wallaby and dolphin pod sightings, and a very noteworthy fire ant bite. All in good fun. Additional tips for Byron Bay: don't try Bundaberg, do shop at 11:11 o'clock and About a Girl boutiques (and, duh, Spell & the Gypsy Collective), and DEFINITELY do grab breakfast at Top Shop on your way to the Byron Bay Lighthouse. Shoes always optional.

Melbourne, Yarra Valley, and Bondi Beach posts still to come!

The Holiday Shop

Good as Gold: Shop for the Holidays

We've done the hard work for you.

As avid perusers of online retailers, we've selected some favourites for the holiday season. We're talking heart-eyed emoji favourites. Plenty of soft silk, metallic finishes, pleated gold goodness, cozy velvet and rhinestone studded accessories to match.  Pair a sleek party dress with a warm and inviting fur coat because we all know how good they feel when it's -20 degrees outside and you're waiting in a bar line.

So, by all means, we'd love to share our picks with you. Since we can't buy them all (or can we?), hopefully someone else out there will be able to mix some of these up into a perfect Christmas and/or NYE ensemble.

As a former Ryerson student, it's nice to return to my old stomping grounds every once in a while... OK not really, the campus is largely unimpressive, but makes for a decent shortcut sometimes when down by the Eaton Centre and Dundas Square. These were taken in transit between catching up on all my mall store shopping and patio lingering with Dayle. These Nike wedge dunks... ya either love em or ya hate em! Weigh in however you want, but I am firmly on the love side. Personally, I think they go with so many different outfits, are comfortable, and put a more unique (and... urban??) spin on any ensemble. On this day, I paired them with these great paisley scarf print shorts from Topshop, a black sweatshirt with mesh inserts, trusty faux leather moto, and my beloved faux fur bag.

Once again we invaded a campus that we do not attend to snap some pics amongst the architecture. It just looks so much better than a boring street! Amidst the "she doesn't even go here" glares we perched up on the steps in the Ryerson quad and made this outfit look spiffier than it ever could on it's own. Adding a little pep to my step, Windsor Smith 'Lily' white leather sandals to compliment some chambray pants and a patterned blouse ensemble. Also making a reappearance; that floppy felt hat that seems to go well with everything these days. Just beware of gale force winds or you'll be clumsily chasing your lil chapeau down the street!
