As I'd hoped, my first time in southern France was filled with baguettes, lavender, French bulldogs, sunshine, cobblestone streets, wine, cheese, breathtaking mountain and Mediterranean views, macaroons, wishful trips to Galleries Lafayette, and endless opportunities to practice my dormant French language skills. C'EST MAGNIFIQUE! Home base for the first half of the trip was Hotel Pigonnet in Aix-En-Provence, who's grounds were, as I hopefully captured in the above photos, impressively serene and beautiful. I was feeling quite spoiled to be in such a picturesque scene, sitting in the charmingly overgrown garden and taking in my surroundings. Statues, fountains, and wicker seating areas were scattered all over, flowers were in full bloom, and sweet little grounds cats were basking in the sunlight, snacking on smoked salmon leftover from breakfast. It was rather enchanting, let me tell you! Naturally, I felt it necessary to wear a bomber by the purveyor of French fashion, Isabel Marant (for H&M). Paired it with trackies and slip ons for a casual look turned luxe thanks to all respective fabrics in question (pony hair, faux leather, and metallic jacquard) in an attempt to put my own spin on the ever-elusive French style.
